Sofitel has announced the launch of three new properties - each incorporating the group's So SPA concept - at locations in Austria, Mauritius and Cambodia.

The unveiling of the 201-room Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra sees the hotel operator open its first Cambodian So SPA, which blends Khmer treatments with French-style spa care.

Facilities at the Phnom Penh property include a hammam, two pools and a sauna, in addition to four restaurants, a sports complex and 1,800sq m (19,375sq ft) of meeting space.

Sofitel So Mauritus - unveiled under the operator's new brand - is a boutique property that has been designed by Thai architect Lek Bunnag and fashion designer Kenzo Takada.

The Bel Ombre hotel's So SPA offers a comprehensive range of treatments using products made with locally-sourced fruits and spices.

An acupuncture doctor is also available on site, with organic French cosmetic brand Clé des Champs used at Sofitel So Mauritius.

Acupuncture treatments include the exclusive "acupuncture face lift" technique by Céline Claret Coquet.

Suites and villas at the 92-room hotel all feature private gardens and outdoor pools or ponds and patios with outdoor showers. Two further So-branded hotels are to follow in Bangkok, Thailand, and Mumbai, India, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom is the company's first in Austria and is to be the brand's flagship European property.

The hotel's So SPA is due to open in April, and will feature a fitness centre, two whirlpools, two hammams and five treatment rooms, as well as a tanning salon.

Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom has been designed by architect Jean Nouvel and also features a glass-walled restaurant - Le Loft - overseen by Michelin-starred chef Antoine Westermann.

Sofitel's worldwide partner spa brands include Clarins, Carita, Cinq Mondes and, more specifically, marocMaroc for Morroco. Ytsara products are used in Asia, combined with French-style spa care.
