W Hotels opens Thailand resort

W Hotels Worldwide, a branch of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, has opened its first site in Southeast Asia.

The W Retreat Koh Samui is an all-villa beachfront resort located on the north shore of Thailand's Samui Island.

Eva Ziegler, global brand leader, W Hotels Worldwide and Le Méridien, said: "We are delighted to have brought the W brand to Koh Samui, one of the coolest islands in Southeast Asia. W Koh Samui marks an important move in the global expansion of the W brand, and after W Maldives and W Vieques, it is our third retreat worldwide."

The resort boasts 75 private villas, which each come with a private pool, daybeds, an outdoor shower, a Yamaha sound system, a 46-inch plasma screen TV, a wine refrigerator and the signature W bed.

The Away Spa, the resort's signature spa, features treatments including massages, facial and body treatments, manicures and pedicures, as well as a range of treatments incorporating local Thai influences. There is also a swimming pool, a fitness suite, a water sports centre and a tennis court.

Other amenities include the WooBar bar/club, The Kitchen Table and Namu restaurants and a function facilities.

W Hotels opens Thailand resort

W Hotels Worldwide, a branch of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, has opened its first site in Southeast Asia.
