Work is underway on the £1.2m redevelopment of the Kinmel Manor hotel in Abergele, Wales, adding a new spa and leisure facility.

Once complete at the end of next year, the family-run hotel will be re-launched, offering guests the use of a six-treatment room spa facility, which will also house a new gymnasium, sauna and steam room, hydrotherapy pool with high pressure jets and a relaxation room.

The relaxation room and the site’s gymnasium are to look over the area’s famed countryside views, which stretch out towards the Welsh coastline.

The spa is to house its own Thai restaurant that has been designed and built to enhance the Thai-themed holistic therapies offered by the facility’s treatment packages.

Elsewhere, the hotel has also undergone refurbishment in recent months, with all of its rooms now of a four-star standard.

“The Kinmel Manor has over the years gained an excellent reputation as a venue for weddings and functions,” said Tom Morpeth, hotel manager at the Kinmel.

“The new spa facility and hotel upgrade will now give us the opportunity to enhance that reputation as a destination hotel of choice.

“We will cater for conferences, luxury spa breaks and clientele looking to experience the increasing number of exciting leisure activities on offer throughout North Wales, whilst staying in excellent accommodation with the added benefit of a superior spa and leisure facility.”

The development will also spur the creation of up to 20 jobs during peak times of operation, with positions on offer including a spa and leisure manager, assistant chef, personal trainers, restaurant manager and hotel staff.

The spa is to be open to residents, day visitors and members.
