Global Wellness Day gets social
POSTED 06 Jun 2016 . BY Jane Kitchen
Global Wellness Day takes place june 11
Spa and wellness industry members who would like to show their support for Global Wellness Day, set to take place this month on June 11, have been changing their social media profile pictures with an app called Twibbon, which adds in a pink frame with the words “I say yes!” around your profile picture.

The app can be used for profile pictures on Facebook or Twitter, and users are able to preview their new profile pictures before changing them; it can be accessed by clicking here.

The app also has a cover picture that you can download in support of Global Wellness Day that features the quote “When ‘I’ is replaced by ‘We,’ illness becomes wellness,” from Sharon L. Alder, along with a silhouette of a group of people with Global Wellness Day “I say Yes” paddles, and a note of the event’s date of June 11.

There is also an online movement to take the Global Wellness Day Challenge, doing one wellness-related activity for seven days leading up to the event on June 11 and posting a picture of yourself doing it, along with the hashtag #TrainingForGWD2016. Activities include walking for an hour, drinking more water, not using plastic bottles, eating organic foods, going to sleep at 10pm, doing a good deed and eating a family dinner.

Lise Bartoli, clinical psychologist, hypnotherapist and author, has also developed an online wellness test in collaboration with Jean-Guy de Gabriac, International Coordinator Global Wellness Day, which aims to “help you assess how satisfied you truly feel with your life and help find avenues to amplify your state of wellness.” The test can be accessed here.

More than 3,000 properties across 100 countries are expected to take place in the event on June 11.
