Raychem electric underfloor heating systems have been installed for comfort heating in the recently opened £8m destination spa at the Gleneagles hotel and resort in Perthshire.
Tyco Thermal Controls' distributor partner, Smith Electrical, was commissioned by the project electrical contractor H F Ltd to supply the underfloor heating systems and install them under the anti-slip, porcelain ceramic tiling around the vitality pool, across the communal areas, in changing rooms and in twelve of the treatment rooms.
Raychem ultra-thin QuickNet power mats were laid in the tile adhesive to offer maximum heating efficiency with virtually no impact on floor height. A higher output for specified for the changing rooms so Raychem T2Blue heating cables were installed to precisely match the requirement of this particular zone and these were laid within a levelling compound.
