Uxbridge College is celebrating record numbers at its health and fitness club since appointing Energy Fitness Professionals (EFP) to manage the facility.
Attendance at Lifestyles Health & Fitness Studios rose from less than 7,000 in 2003 to 30,000 in 2004 with a 214 per cent rise in membership since EFP took over the contract in July 2003.
EFP said the success is due to a number of factors; including the introduction of personal training, weight management courses and health checks, as well as the redesign of the class timetable, which has seen class attendance double each month over the last 12 months.
The company has also sub-contracted additional services such as the management of the onsite restaurant, the beauty and nail bar and alternative health treatments such as physiotherapy, sports massage and reflexology. It has also introduced a toy library where families can borrow toys.
There are approximately 70,00 people onsite at the Uxbridge College and Hayes Campus who are eligible for gym membership.
