Wyre Borough Council (WBC) has held a turf-cutting ceremony ahead of the start of work on a £1m scheme to revitalise Fleetwood's Marine Gardens in Lancashire.
The construction phase of the project is due to start in the week commencing 13 June and is part of a wider regeneration work being carried out under the Sea Change banner.
BCA Landscapes and contractor William Pye will deliver the transformed Marine Gardens, which will feature a new outdoor performance area and enhance the site's appeal to tourists.
WBC portfolio holder with responsibility for regeneration Barry Birch said: "Our vision is to create a striking marine garden and firmly establish Marine Hall as a key venue for entertainment and performance."
