The Mandarin Oriental Group will soon raise the curtain on The Spa at Mandarin Oriental in Taipei, China – the upcoming 303-bedroom hotel owned by Kai Tai Fung International Company Limited.

The Spa interior is courtesy of international design firm Yabu Pushelberg, which specialises in hospitality and retail industry projects.

Spread over two floors, the development is more than 3,500sq m (37,673sq ft) in size and consists of two separate wellness areas: The Spa itself and an urban Fitness and Wellness Centre.

The Spa boasts a range of heat and water experiences including crystal steam showers, a sauna, an ice fountain, experience showers and a vitality pool.

There are 12 treatment suites (four of which are couples' rooms and two are VIP double suites), a beauty salon, tea lounge and boutique store.

They provide a range of complete body treatments that last up to four hours, using products by Biologique Recherche, CACI international and VISIA's skin assessment tool 'Complexion Analysis System'.

The “Secret of Siam” therapy is a form of Thai massage in a room filled with professionally blended organic scents made by Aromatherapy Associates.

“Formosa” is another Taiwanese-inspired therapy using a range of different butterfly massage techniques after a full-body white mud mask made from sea pearls and sea salt.

Four hour treatments of Chakra and Reiki therapy are also offered, followed by a golden caviar facial and a precious stone bath – using either sapphire, ruby, jade or aquamarine gems in an aroma stone massage.

The Fitness and Wellness Centre also features a multi-function fitness studio and a heated 20m outdoor swimming pool.
