“Inspire action and create community through storytelling” will be the theme for the Green Spa Congress 2018, the annual conference of the Green Spa Network.

The event will be held between March 11-14 at Carmel Valley Ranch in California.

Keynote speakers will include Josiah Cain from Sherwood Design Engineers; Michael Bernard Beckwith, Agape International Spiritual Center; and Celia Hoffman from The Goodman Center.

As part of the congress, the Global Wellness Institute (GWI) has announced it will present an invitation-only roundtable discussion on 11 March, examining the intersection between human and environmental wellbeing.

The roundtable will have the theme ‘Beyond sustainability: defining a new terrain for vital wellbeing’.

The event will be moderated by Mary Bemis, editor of Insider’s Guide to Spas, with panelists Bill Reed, Regenesis Group; Deborah Szekely, Rancho la Puerta; Mary-Elizabeth Gifford, Stellar Organic Certification; Veronica Schreibeis Smith, Vera Iconica Design; Kevin Kelly, Civana; Jonathan Paul de Vierville, author; and Stephen Kiesling, editor, Spirituality & Health magazine.

The group will debate the future of wellness in the context of concerns about climate change and access to natural resources.

The roundtable will address how environmental issues impact wellbeing, as well as setting a baseline for investments that promote both personal and planetary health.

Bemis told Spa Business: "This roundtable will put regenerative practices back into the spa equation at a time when the planet clearly needs it."

Green Spa Network Congress delegates will be invited to participate in a Q&A session with the roundtable panel at the end of the invitation-only session.
