The Asian-inspired Setai hotel on Miami Beach, US, to relaunch oriental spa

A regenerated spa is about to premiere at The Setai hotel on Miami Beach in Florida, US, which opened in November last year after a multi-million dollar series of renovations.

The revamped spa will officially launch on 8 July and will feature four spacious and oriental-inspired treatment suites boasting ocean and pool views, plus a private bathroom and steamroom in each. The large rooms have been designed with couples or friends in mind, enabling them to receive treatments in tandem.

The spa will offer specially formulated skincare treatments by Thémaé – the first time the brand has featured in a US spa – whose products are made from four types of teas: red (rooibos), white, green and black.

“Thémaé has been partnering with the best spas across the world,” said Bertrand Thiery, CEO and co-founder, Thémaé. “For our debut in the US, we have chosen The Setai, Miami Beach, not only for its award-winning history as an authentic Asian-inspired luxury hotel, but because we also share the same passion to provide our guests with the highest level of service and best experience possible.”

The spa will continue to offer its signature Asian-inspired spa rituals such as the Ancient Balinese and Traditional Thai massages.

Thémaé is a Paris-based cosmetics and spa brand inspired by the art of tea and named after the Japanese tea preparation ceremony. Tea has medicinal properties which, according to Thémaé, actively contribute to the slowing down of the skin’s signs of ageing by neutralising free radicals that break down collagen and elastin.

“Our spa is known for bringing the traditions of the Pacific Rim to Miami Beach, so we are excited to incorporate treatments and products inspired by the Asian art of tea into our experience,” said Laura De La Rosa, spa director for The Spa at The Setai. “This partnership represents two Asian-inspired luxury lifestyle brands coming together to enhance our guests’ spa experience.”

The 120-key Miami hotel re-emerged last November after a revitalisation of its iconic vitality pools, pool deck, plus facade updates to the Art Deco and Tower.

The hotel features four dining and lounge areas, a fitness centre, private beach, various boutiques, water sports and deep sea diving. Golf and tennis facilities are located nearby.
