The Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum has opened on the northern side of the Turkish peninsula, offering panoramic views over the Agean Sea, surrounded by ancient olive groves and pine trees.

The 109-guestroom resort is located at Cennet Koyu, which means Paradise Bay.

The on-site Spa at Mandarin Oriental is 2,700sq m (29,063sq ft) and features five treatment rooms, three beauty rooms, two outdoor treatment cabanas plus two spa suites including one for VIPs and one for couples.

The VIP suite has curved wood panel ceilings, a fireplace and mood lighting. It has its own vitality pool ,sauna, hammam, steamroom and an expansive terrace which wraps around the suite.

The couples’ suite includes twin beds, a steam shower and foot ritual area for side-by-side treatments.

Extensive heat and water facilities complement the spa’s hammams with private scrub rooms.

“The entry of such a prestigious and luxurious hotel brand sets a new milestone, and serves to increase Bodrum’s appeal,” said Vedat Asci, chair of Astas Real Estate Investments and Tourism AS – the resort’s owner and developer.

The resort’s other health and fitness features include an indoor swimming pool and comprehensive fitness centre. There is also an aquatic centre offering scuba diving, water sports, sailing and fishing.

The 60-hectare waterfront site has ten restaurants and bars for guests to choose from.

Activities available also comprise olive-pressing, glass blowing, pottery and an outdoor crafts market.
