South coast university appoints Pulse as fitness partner
POSTED 25 May 2017 . BY Deven Pamben
Neil Mosley is director of education at Pulse Group
Pulse Group has been tasked with helping in the planning and design of a sports facility that will house three gyms after Southampton Solent University appointed the leisure solutions supplier as its fitness partner.

Pulse, which was awarded the contract after a tendering process, will be involved in the key planning stages of the facility in partnership with constructors Morgan Sindall. Work on the building is due to start in the summer.

Pulse's equipment division, Pulse Fitness, will supply and install kit at the three gyms.

There are plans for the facility to include a high performance gym for elite-level athletes, a personal training and teaching gym that will be used by the university’s academic leaders, a 100-station community gym, a spin studio, and an aerobics and yoga studio.

The university said the building will enable excellence in the teaching of sport, health and fitness related degree programmes.

Neil Mosley, director of education at Pulse Group, said: “We are delighted to be working with Southampton Solent University as they embark on this exciting project.

“Far too often as a supplier we’ve seen what can happen when there hasn’t been communication between the design and build teams and the equipment suppliers. Using our expertise, we are confident that by working in partnership at this early planning stage, we can ensure that the facility is fit for purpose right from the outset.

"Through the knowledge and support of Pulse Fitness, we look forward to ensuring that the new facility offers a fantastic range of innovative and exciting equipment that is tailored to each area of the community.”

Martin Nailor, Solent Sport assistant director, said: “Their [Pulse's] knowledge and experience in creating facilities is exceptional and their equipment really is second-to-none.

“Even though the facility won’t be complete until 2019, the Pulse team have already been able to provide us with fantastic support from all levels of business including the expertise of their senior management team.

"Their knowledge and support will prove invaluable as the project goes on and we look forward to building a long-term partnership with them as we aim to improve the fitness provision for the entire community.”
