Multi-million Monart spa to open in Ireland
POSTED 11 Aug 2005 . BY
The Ireland-based Griffin Hotel Group has announced the introduction of Monart, a 35m euro(£24m, US$43.3m) luxury destination spa due to open later this year.

Monart is set within 100 acres of woodland in North County Wexford in the south east of Ireland.

The property – which offers 70 luxury bedrooms and suites – features a 1,400sq m (15,000 sq ft) spa with 14 treatment rooms, a sanarium, a sauna, a swedish log sauna, a laconium, a salt grotto, a steamroom, rasul and hammam chambers and soap massage rooms with heated massage tables.

Other facilities will include a kneipp pool, a hydrotherapy pool, foot spas, manicure and pedicure rooms, a hair salon and dark and light relaxation rooms.

Monart has entered into an exclusive partnership with US-based product line Pevonia Botanica and will offer a series of needs-based, results-driven packages focusing on areas such as detoxification, anti-ageing and sports therapy.

Treatments are set to include a full body Detox Seaweed Thalasso Wrap, a Green Coffee body wrap for cellulite and an Elasto-firm face mask treatment. Complementary massage and alternative therapies will be offered as well.

The spa will also have a selection of products aimed at specific skin issues including rosacea, pigmentation, dehydration and premature ageing.

Monart is the first destination spa to be created by Liam Griffin, managing director of Griffin Hotels, which was established in the early 1980s. The group operates two hotels in the south east of Ireland – the Ferrycarrig Hotel and Hotel Kilkenny.
