Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas launches Digital Detox Weekend Retreat
POSTED 12 Jul 2016 . BY Jane Kitchen
The Digital Detox Weekend Retreat begins with a personal consultation with a spa therapist to understand the guest’s current habits with their mobile devices
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is hosting its first Digital Detox Weekend Retreat from September 9 to 11, 2016.

Guests will enjoy a “calming weekend of activities designed to provide a digital escape and relief from constant connectivity with their mobile devices.”

The Digital Detox Weekend Retreat begins with a personal consultation with a spa therapist to understand the guest’s current habits with their mobile devices. Each guest will then be able to select a complete digital detox regimen, which includes no access to their personal devices for the duration of the retreat, or partial digital detox, which will include agreed upon times when phones will be returned to the participant.

Mobile devices will not be permitted during group activities, which include yoga classes, nutrition talks, healthy smoothie demonstrations, guided meditation classes, group sharing circles and more.

Guests will also have free time during the retreat to read, journal, colour, swim, write letters to loved ones, sit in silence or enjoy a calming spa treatment.

“In today’s fast paced and technology charged times, people need to find time away from devices, communication and the stress that comes with the constant digital connections with the world,” said senior spa director Jennifer Lynn. “The expectation for instant communication and connection is causing additional stress and chatter in our lives.”
