Bannatyne Group buys Norwich health club
POSTED 22 Nov 2016 . BY Deven Pamben
Justin Musgrove, chief executive of the Bannatyne Group
The Bannatyne Group has added a 67th site to its portfolio after buying the Carrefour health club in Costessey, Norwich.

The club, which will be rebranded as Bannatyne Health Club Norwich West, offers cardio-vascular and fixed weight machines, free weights, a 20-metre pool and sauna and steam rooms. It has around 1,600 members and employs 14 staff.

The company plans to spend money on a new studio and equipment.

Justin Musgrove, Bannatyne Group chief executive, said: “This acquisition is another example of our ambition to acquire good quality sites.

“The Carrefour health club is a perfect fit with our portfolio, including our existing club on the east side of Norwich, and already provides an excellent health and fitness experience. Members can be assured that we aim to build on this, with the benefits of being part of a company that has vast experience and an excellent reputation in the sector.

“We already have plans in place to upgrade the facilities and by the end of the year a major refurbishment will have been completed.”

The Bannatyne Group has around 200,000 members and employs in the region of 3,000 people across its 67 sites.
