POSTED 18 Apr 2008 . BY Sarah Todd
Asian resort and spa operator Banyan Tree Holdings (BTH) – which operates the Banyan Tree and Angsana brands – is to open 50 more spa resorts and hotels by 2011.

This year, the group plans to open Banyan Tree Sanya on the Chinese island of Hainan and the Angsana Hotel and Suites in Dubai. The Banyan Tree Ungasan in Bali will also open in late 2008 as well as the Banyan Tree Mayakoba, the group’s first property in the Caribbean.

BTH also recently signed contracts for the Banyan Tree and Angsana properties in Sifah, Oman, both due to complete in 2010, and the Banyan Tree Saraya Islands in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, also due to open by late 2010.

Other properties due to open in 2010 include the Angsana Samana Bay in the Dominican Republic and the US$70m (£35.6m, 44.2m euro) Banyan Tree and Angsana resorts at Dinaran Island in the Philippines.
