The first of two new spas called Spa de la Veille has opened within the Grey Owl Village shopping centre in Centurion in the Gauteng Province of South Africa.
Costing SAR10m (US$1.3m, 0.87m euro, £0.78m) to construct, the new facility covers 6,996sq ft (650sq m) and features seven single treatment suites as well as two double suites.
Other features include a water massage treatment room, a Roman Bath, an ice flake scrub fountain, a rasul, Kneipp therapy stations and a chromo aqua therapy room.
South African-based company The Spa Consultants worked on the creation of the facility and its architecture division, Va Room Interiors, created the spa's design. Spa products and equipment include Matis, Dermalogica, La Prairie, Mama Mio, Babor and OPI.
The signature treatment is called the Journey of Life and incorporates a Rainforest shower, a rasul, a Kneipp and a sauna experience.
A second site will open in early 2010 in South Africa's Kwa-Zulu Natal region. Details: spadelaveille.com
