An eco-resort encircled by a coral reef is being built on the Tetiaroa atoll, 35 miles from Tahiti in the French Polynesia.
Owned and developed by the Tahiti Beachcomber SA company, The Brando will feature 47 bungalow villas with plunge pools and a large luxury spa.
The island is named after late actor Marlon Brando, who purchased the 13-island chain in 1965 with a view to developing a resort in partnership with his friend Richard Bailey, the chief executive of Tahiti Beachcomber SA. Bailey already owns four resorts in the region.
