Chewton Glen triumphs at awards ceremony

Hampshire-based country house hotel and spa Chewton Glen has been named the second best hotel in the world in a poll.

The privately-owned property has 58 bedrooms; extensive spa facilities including 10 treatment rooms, an ozone-treated swimming pool and outdoor whirlpool; plus a nine-hole, par-3 golf course; tennis courts and a croquet lawn.

Chewton Glen was beaten to the top spot by the Ladera Resort in St Lucia, although it did top a separate poll for best UK hotel.
