Building work has started on the $375m Spa Tower at the Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas.
In addition to 925 rooms and suites, the new tower – due for completion in December 2004 – will feature an expansion of the resort’s AAA Five-Diamond resort’s existing spa and salon, extra meeting and convention space, added retail and a restaurant.
“The demand for Bellagio has been extraordinary since we first opened in 1998,” says Robert H. Baldwin, president and CEO of Mirage Resorts, which owns the hotel. “The Spa Tower will allow us to invite new audiences to experience the elegance and romance of Bellagio.”
The Spa Tower will be strategically located on the south side of Bellagio’s main pool and courtyard. Guests will enter via the conservatory, where a 50ft glass-walled corridor overlooking the hotel’s Mediterranean-style pool courtyards will lead them to the private elevators that access the tower.
