The Hotel Bellevue has relaunched as a five-star property on the Croatian island of Lošinj, in Cikat Bay, in the coming months, after a €50m (US$67m, £40m) refurbishment by owners Jadranka Group.

As the first five-star hotel in Lošinj, this property completes Jadranka’s portfolio of tourism developments on the island. The hotel is the flagship property for Jadranka – which was founded in 1947 by the National Cres-Lošinj County to manage local tourism facilities. The company operates the island’s hotels, camping sites, shopping facilities and yacht leisure activities.

The updated hotel has 185 bedrooms and 21 suites, offering views of either the sea or forest. The property’s wellness facility is called SPA Clinic and features several different ‘zones’. The Spa Clinic area – to open soon – will specialise in anti-ageing medicine and aesthetic beauty treatments. More therapies are expected to be added to the menu in the future, such as laser treatments, plus cosmetology and dermatology consultations. The Beauty Zone will manage face care, styling treatments for hair, depilation, make-up and spa foot care. The zone called Massage World will offer a range of therapeutic massages, plus both themed and branded spa massage therapies.

The spa will feature programmes and rituals designed for couples in addition to its Spa Zone, which includes a Finnish sauna, bio sauna and a Turkish bath with Hammam table, whirlpool and a spa suite for couples that features its own sauna and spa pool.

The clinic’s relaxation zone is set to feature a waterbed, vitality relax chairs and heated stone bed. There will also be a spa garden and spa sunbathing area as well as an on-site nutritionist for consultations. A separate Fit Zone comprises a fitness centre with Technogym equipment and a yoga and Pilates studio is on-site.

“The target audience of our Spa Clinic are clients with special demands for preservation and improvement of their mental and physical condition in addition to beauty and lifestyle changes,” a spokesperson for Hotel Bellevue told Spa Opportunities. “[We are targeting] people who, using prevention methods, want to mitigate or stop the natural changing process in their own bodies.”

Cosmetic products used in the spa will be supplied by Natura Bissé, Thalion, Cellcosmet, Diego dalla Palma and Malu Wilz.

Other on-site leisure facilities include six dining and drinking venues, indoor and outdoor seawater pools, access to the beach and sports such as cycling and trekking.

The Croatian hotel’s architecture was created by Zagreb-based Rusan Arhitektura Studio and interior design was led by Arta-projektiranje. Dean Skira provided the lighting design and the horticultural plans for the property were overseen by the Dionaea vrtovi team and the contractor was Radnik Križevci.
