The Crowne Plaza Hotel Marlow in London has begun a £500,000 refurbishment project including upgrades to its health & fitness club and spa facilities.

Managers of the 168-bedroom hotel, Redefine|BDL Hotels, have designed the renovated facilities with the help of in-house interior designer Claude De Zitter. The property is owned by Marlow Hotel Company – an independent company which only owns the Crowne Plaza Marlow.

“We’re investing in the region of half a million pounds to make-over many areas of the hotel as part of our renovation project,” said Richard Storey, general manager at Crowne Plaza Marlow.

“The investment includes a new relaxation zone and revamp for our Quad Beauty treatment rooms, as well as a new dry sauna and showers,” Storey added. “We will also upgrade the changing rooms and soft furnishings throughout Quad Club.”

Quad Club is the health and fitness club. Quad Beauty is the name which refers to the facility’s three spa treatment rooms which are 200sq ft (19sq m) each.

UK-based sauna specialists, Reef Grove, are supplying the dry sauna zone.

Skincare products used in Quad Beauty are by Monu Skincare.

The health club also has a swimming pool, steamroom, drench showers and a hot tub with lakeside views.

The renovation to the health club and spa is part of a project which involves 48 individual developments throughout the hotel, including upgrades to its conference centre and a new children’s activity centre. There are also plans to update the hotel’s air conditioning system, dance floor and fountains.

The hotel originally opened in 2002 and employs more than 100 full and part-time staff.
