Facial and body treatments can be upgraded with a range of technologies, such as those designed for complementary technology means the service can include microstimulation and hydra-dermabrasion
Dior has opened its first permanent spa in the US at its renovated four-floor flagship shop, House of Dior, in New York City.

The spa is located on the top floor of the boutique on Madison Avenue and 57th Street, after years of renovation, with the redesign by architect Peter Marino.

The Dior Spa has adopted a scientific approach to skincare and wellbeing, which it calls the Science of Haute Wellness. It uses cutting-edge technologies in combination with its signature treatments.

The spa has four treatment rooms, a makeup parlour and a space for four different light therapy treatments – called the Dior Light Suite.

The four treatment rooms are named after meaningful locations and moments in the house of fashion’s history. These include Granville (founder Christian Dior’s hometown in Normandy); 1947 and New Look (the year and name of his first collection) and Lily of the Valley (the floral motif that appeared on his designs).

Dior Light Suite

The Dior Light Suite offers therapies that mimic the benefits produced by the sun, to provide the ideal daily dose of light. An LED-studded ceiling diffuses four types of light and is promoted as an enhancement to any of the spa’s 90-minute treatments.

The four options offer individual goals for guests: happiness, recharge, recovery, rest.

Happiness is said to stimulate serotonin and dopamine. This therapy is exclusive to the New York location and has been developed in collaboration with Dr François Duforez, a medical doctor and sleep clinician and the founder of the European Sleep Centre in Paris.

Recharge is designed to assist those suffering from jet lag or in need of revitalisation, Recover helps synchronise circadian cycles and Rest aids sleep management.

Haute Couture Facial

The spa offers a 90-minute Haute Couture facial. This is a bespoke therapy has been designed by renowned facialist Sarah Akram. Guests receive a hands-on treatment, combined with advanced technology, following a skin analysis using a device called Cortex, which measures factors such as hydration, elasticity, pH and collagen levels.

The complementary technology means the service can include microstimulation, hydra-dermabrasion, LED mask and cold laser experiences, microcurrent and ultrasound treatments, as well as a high-pressure oxygen infusion therapy.

Prêt-à-Porter Treatments

Other facial and body treatments at the Dior Spa – which can be upgraded with access to the technologies on offer – include techniques such as lymphatic drainage, dry brushing, cryo acupressure, hog gua sha therapy, acid peels, masks and massage.

Icoone and Hydrafacial technologies are also in use.

Dior has collaborated with Myndstream to complement treatments with curated soundscapes and playlists.

Dior is a brand of LVMH.
