Great Hotels of the World (GHOTW) has confirmed the opening of the EUR20m (£17.2m, US$27.5m) Dom Pedro Laguna Beach Villas, Golf and Spa Resort in Brazil.
Located on the Aquiraz Riviera, the 102-bedroom resort includes the Spa Aquae - offering a whirlpool; an indoor swimming pool; cv fitness facilities; and five treatment rooms.
Chromo-therapy - the use of different colours as an alternative cure for diseases - features as part of the indoor pool, with a number of "earth colours" integrated into the décor.
Facilities at the resort also include a nine-hole Ocean Golf Course, which is to be expanded to 18 holes, as well as sports provision such as beach volleyball, surfing and beach football.
Three meeting rooms and a range of restaurants and bars complete the line-up at Dom Pedro Laguna, which opens up onto the Marambaia Beach.
