EuropeActive has launched an online practical learning programme to guide operators in the re-opening and operation of fitness facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Targeting club owners and operational staff, the programme covers best practices and helps guide procedures for re-opening and running clubs – with a focus on coronavirus-related restrictions and limitations.

The resource – which has been made available for €50 (£45) – is designed to offer a better understanding of how to plan for all aspects of operating with safety in mind.

The programme has 10 learning modules:

1. Understanding COVID-19
2. How to defend against the spread of the virus
3. Returning to work and re-opening
4. Preventing cross-contamination
5. Social distancing – critical concerns
6. Cleaning and waste management
7. First aid responders
8. Managing back-office functions and deliveries
9. Dealing with suspected COVID-19 cases
10. Conclusions

"It's essential for all staff to be trained to understand their responsibilities and to have the confidence to deal with COVID-19-related situations in the correct manner," says EuropeActive.

"Those completing the programme are able to undertake a self-assessment test and will be issued with a certificate of achievement."

Those wanting to enrol on the programme can do so on the EuropeActive website – click here.
