First UAE resort for DoubleTree by Hilton
POSTED 23 Jan 2012 . BY Pete Hayman
Hilton Worldwide has secured a management agreement for DoubleTree by Hilton's first resort development in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is to open in early 2014.

The new-build DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Marjan Island, which will also be the brand's second property in Ras Al Khaimah, will be one of the first to open at Marjan Island.

Facilities at the 309-bedroom resort will comprise a health club and spa with five treatment rooms, as well as two swimming pools; a kids club; two restaurants; and two bars.

A private beach will also be on offer at the resort, which follows the signing of a deal with Mohamed Ruqait Real Estate. It forms part of a wider expansion planned for the region.

Hilton Worldwide Middle East and Africa president Rudi Jagerbascher said: "I'm pleased we are playing a major part in firmly putting the Emirate on the destination map.

"[This project] represents another important step in our ongoing commitment to the region and our continued expansion across the Middle East and Africa."

Rob Palleschi, global head of DoubleTree by Hilton, added: "This latest Marjan Island property presents another outstanding DoubleTree by Hilton destination in the UAE and is destined to become a key resort for the world's travellers."
