Fitness First lands Team GB training contract
POSTED 11 Jun 2014 . BY Jak Phillips
Fitness First’s UK managing director Martin Seibold (left) and BOA chair Lord Sebastian Coe launch the new partnership
Fitness First has secured a new tie-up with the British Olympic Association (BOA) to become Team GB’s first-ever official fitness partner.

As part of the deal, Fitness First will throw open the doors of its 76 UK sites to Team GB athletes as they embark on rigorous training schedules in the quest for glory at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Further initiatives involving Team GB athletes, Fitness First members and the general public are expected to be announce in the coming months.

“The synergy between Team GB and Fitness First is very clear and obvious, embracing sport and getting the nation to understand what elite competition is about, along with challenging all those big issues such as physical inactivity,” said BOA chair Lord Sebastian Coe.

As the National Olympic Committee for Great Britain and Northern Ireland the BOA selects Team GB from the best sportsmen and women to compete in the 28 summer and seven winter Olympic sports at the biggest sporting competition in the world.

Fitness First’s UK managing director Martin Seibold added: “As two organisations who believe in the ability of expert support teams to motivate and inspire greatness, we look forward to working closely with the British Olympic Association to support Team GB athletes and Fitness First members.”
