First Four Seasons private island resort to include over-water spa
POSTED 07 Jun 2016 . BY Jane Kitchen

Four Seasons will open its first private island resort late this year – the Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah, Baa Atoll – located in an exclusive-use UNESCO hideaway in a World Biosphere Reserve.

Designed by architects MICD Associates, the secluded five-acre (two-hectare) resort features seven bedrooms, including a three-bedroom beach villa, two-bedroom water villa and two mezzanine suites, and accommodates up to 22 guests on an exclusive basis. Interiors are from Avalon Collective.

The private island retreat also includes an Oceans of Consciousness Ocean Spa, which sits perched over a lagoon and offers treatments from skincare brand ila created by The Spa & Ayurvedic Retreat at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giravaaru. Treatments are inspired by the five pathways to consciousness: truth, wise choices, love, peace and compassion.

The beach house also includes a fully-equipped gym, and private yoga, meditation, pranayama, as well as services of the Rossano Ferreti Hair Salon are available upon request.

The 1,077sq m (11,593sq ft) three-bedroom beach villa includes a massive sunbathing pool, al fresco living room and master suite with ocean views on three sides. The 553sq m (5,952sq ft) two-bedroom water villa is stilted above the fish-filled lagoon and includes an air-conditioned living room that opens onto an al fresco living deck with 17m (56ft) long sunset pool. Two mezzanine suites and a bunk room with beds for up to four children complete the setup.

“At Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah, guests can design their own experience,” said Armando Kraenzlin, regional vice president and general manager, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru.

“They can treat the island as a space to spend captivating moments with family and friends; a place to play to the extreme and explore to their heart’s content; a secluded sanctuary to retreat and spa; the most exclusive VIP venue to celebrate and party; or an inspiring landscape to meet and motivate.”
