Switzerland's iconic Park Gstaad hotel and destination spa resort will reopen in 2026 as a Four Seasons property
The five-star destination is currently undergoing an extensive refresh overseen by the French interior designer and architect Joseph Dirand
The property will be renamed The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel
It will reopen with 75 rooms and suites, a handful of luxury residences, a 1,000sq m spa, a fitness centre, an array of F&B concepts and more
Four Seasons, the renowned luxury hospitality and spa operator, has announced plans to take over the management of legendary Swiss alpine skiing retreat, The Park Gstaad, starting in the 2026-2027 winter season.

Located in the upscale resort town of Gstaad, the property is one of Europe’s best-known premium mountain destinations and became the town's first five-star hotel when it opened in 1910. Owned by philanthropist, investor and sportswoman Dona Bertarelli, the property is undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment led by Squircle Capital, with French interior designer and architect Joseph Dirand at the helm.

The destination is set to reopen in 2026 under the name: The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel, featuring 75 luxury rooms and suites alongside a collection of penthouse residences.

Wellness will play a central role in the guest experience, with highlights including a modern fitness centre and a 1,000sq m destination spa. The spa will be home to 10 treatment rooms, relaxation areas and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

Other amenities will include a variety of F&B concepts, indoor and outdoor events spaces, a tennis court, ski and bike services, Kids For All Seasons facilities and an ice rink during winter.

“Gstaad has long been a favourite destination in Europe for luxury travellers, and we’re excited to have the unique opportunity to enter this exclusive market with such an exceptional property,” says Bart Carnahan, president, global business development, portfolio management and residential, Four Seasons.

“We look forward to working with our partners to bring together the very best of this legendary property with the service excellence of Four Seasons to create a world-class luxury experience.”

“We have found the ideal partners for a property that has been part of my personal journey in the region,” said Dona Bertarelli.

“The Park Gstaad holds a special place in the region’s heritage, and I’m excited to unveil its transformation into a Four Seasons experience, where its legacy meets modern elegance for residents and visitors to enjoy.”
