The International SPA Association (ISPA) has announced the election of Garrett Mersberger, director of wellness and Kohler Waters Spas at Kohler Co., as chair of the ISPA board of directors, effective immediately.
Previous ISPA chair Todd Shaw has accepted the position of national manager - country club for Technogym, creating a change in his ISPA membership category from a spa to a resource partner. With this change, because of the association’s bylaws, he will no longer able to serve as chair. Mersberger previously served in the secretary/treasurer role.
“I am honoured to have the opportunity to serve as Chairman of the ISPA board of directors,” said Mersberger. “I am grateful for the confidence the board has shown in me and am privileged to serve our members in a greater capacity.”
Shaw will now serve in the role of immediate past chairman and the role of secretary/treasurer will be voted on at the next ISPA board meeting on 31 May.
The 2018 slate of candidates for the ISPA board of directors will be announced to the membership at the upcoming 2018 ISPA Conference & Expo at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix from 24-26 September.
