GoodLife Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness to allow members access to each other's clubs
POSTED 30 Sep 2015 . BY Kath Hudson
GoodLife Fitness founder and CEO David Patchell-Evans
Canadian chain GoodLife Fitness has teamed up with US health club operator 24 Hour Fitness in a reciprocal arrangement to offer members access to each other’s clubs while they are travelling in North America.

This initiative gives members access to almost 700 clubs in the US and Canada, allowing them to keep up with their fitness routines while on the move.

“Whether you’re travelling for work or pleasure, there are incredible benefits to be achieved by maintaining your fitness routine in a comfortable and welcoming environment while you’re away from home,” says GoodLife Fitness founder and CEO David Patchell-Evans.

“The goal for this programme is to ensure that GoodLife and 24 Hour Fitness members stay on track and feel welcome when they are away from home.”

CEO of 24 Hour Fitness, Mark Smith, says he’s delighted that his members will have access to workout facilities while in Canada and looks forward to welcoming GoodLife members at 24 Hour Fitness clubs.

As well as adding value to the memberships, this move is in line with current trends to offer members more flexibility and the choice to work out at more than one club – witnessed by the rapid growth of products such as ClassPass.

GoodLife also reached a significant milestone in August when it launched its first club on Prince Edward Island, meaning it now has a facility in every province in Canada. It has 1.2 million members and more than 350 clubs.

During the next year the chain plans to add another 60 GoodLife Fitness and Fit4Less by GoodLife clubs across the country.

“It’s important we provide welcoming and convenient locations,” says Patchell-Evans. “Continuing to expand across the country will allow us to have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of all Canadians.”
