English Heritage is participating in a new initiative called TopLots – an eBay auction where museums, galleries and heritage attractions sell unique experiences and behind the scenes activities to the highest bidders.
The marketing scheme will run from 1 October for 3 weeks only and will feature not-for-profit museums, historic houses and heritage properties nationwide, offering privileged access and exclusive experiences to buyers in a bid to generate new funds.
Among the lots being sold by English Heritage are a Ghost Tour at Dover Castle and a day spent with historian and broadcaster Dan Snow.
The heritage auction will operate in partnership with eBay and the Association for Independent Museums.
