Treatment brand partners at the new spa include Nuori, Moss of the Isles, Kloris, Déesse Pro and Hyperice
The wellness floor’s design has been inspired by the Swedish Grace movement of the 1920s

The Newman Hotel in London, UK, the first to be operated by management company Kinsfolk and Co, has unveiled an entire floor dedicated to spa and wellness, called Wellness at The Newman.

The concept has been developed for the 81-key hotel in collaboration with spa consultancy Raison d’Etre and London-based interior designers Lind + Almond.

The design is inspired by the Swedish Grace movement of the 1920s, embracing simplicity, harmony and balance. The interiors feature natural materials such as warm oak, bronze, leather and textured coloured glass that echo the work of the era’s iconic textile designer Marta Fjetterström. Read our story about the announcement of the project here.

Facilities

The spa’s facilities also reflect the Nordic design influences, with contrast therapies developed for The Newman by Klafs and Guncast. They include halotherapy room, an ice lounge, a Finnish sauna, a steamroom, experience showers and a hydrotherapy plunge pool.

Facilities dedicated to movement include a gym with equipment by Technogym and a salt-walled studio for classes such as yoga and mat Pilates.

The penthouse suite at The Newman, which has views of the London skyline, also features a private terrace with an ice bath, sauna, shower, fire pit and dedicated space for spa treatments, yoga and Pilates.

Oliver Milne-Watson, general manager of The Newman, said: “It’s been a privilege to bring The Newman to life as the first property from Kinsfolk and Co. For our team, this is more than just opening a hotel; it’s about setting a new standard in thoughtful, considered hospitality, of which wellness is a large part. The wellness floor at The Newman reflects that vision wholeheartedly, with every element carefully designed to support the wellbeing of our guests and neighbours.”

Treatments

Wellness at The Newman has a menu of exclusive treatments that have been designed according to the spa’s values of sustainability, personalisation and innovation.

Skincare partners include Scandinavian clean beauty brand Nuori, Moss of the Isles and CBD brand Kloris.

Déesse Pro will also supply advanced medical-grade LED technology for light therapy during treatments.

A 90-minute Signature Age-Defying Facial costs £230 (US$292, €269) and uses Déesse Pro tools for plumping, brightening, hydrating and smoothing results.

The 90-minute Kloris CBD Swedish Stillness massage, with a price tag of £330 (US$419, €386), is a reimagining of the classic Swedish massage. Rhythmic strokes with personalised pressure are combined with Kloris’ CBD oils and balms to promote a deep state of physical and mental balance.

In terms of recovery, the property has partnered with Hyperice. The brand’s Normatec compression boots and a Venom heat therapy belt are on offer to guests.

Wellness journeys

The curated wellness journeys at this new urban spa are designed to offer experiences relating to the concept’s three pillars: Explore, Engage and Recover – depending on guests’ needs.

Each guided wellness journey enables guests to experience the facilities and treatments.

At £350 (US$445, €410), the two-hour Explore journey is designed for guests seeking sensory activation, circulation support and an introduction to the therapeutic power of contrast therapy.

A 30-minute circuit of the facilities comprises 15 minutes in the sauna, two minutes in the cold experience shower, followed by two more minutes in a warm one. Then the guest spends two minutes in a cool room at 16 degrees Celsius and five minutes in the vitality pool.

This circuit is followed by a 60-minute treatment of choice, a 20-minute session using Hyperice Normatec Compression Boots, plus an additional herbal infusion and snack.

The two other journeys each offer specific use of the facilities and treatments.

The wellness floor’s design is inspired by the Swedish Grace movement of the 1920sEngage lasts 2.5 hours for £800 (US$1,016, €936). Recover lasts 3 hours for £430 (US$546, €503).
