Mandarin Oriental unveils Presidential suite with own spa
POSTED 26 May 2004 . BY
The Mandarin Oriental Miami hotel has unveiled a second Presidential Suite with its own spa to complement its existing 31 suites at the 327-room resort.

The 2,000sq ft Mandarin Suite features a master bedroom and bath, living room with bamboo hardwood floors, formal dining room, gourmet kitchen and large balcony accessible from every room. The suite can also be converted to offer two or three bedrooms upon request.

The room’s most unique feature however is the spa ‘serenity room’.

The room features Japanese-style Tatami mats for lounging and enjoying afternoon tea, an infinity edge soaking bath, tear drop ceiling fountain and relaxation area with glass enclosed steam shower and E’SPA products, salts and bath oils.

Therapists from the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will provide treatments in the suite and a personal therapist will be on call 24 hours a day. Treatments include Balinese synchronised massage, Mandarin hot stone therapy, aromatherapy facial, Thai massage and Shiatsu.

Spa Butlers are also available to prepare lavish bath rituals in the infinity edge bath, which offers a great view with a floor to ceiling window.

Jorge Gonzalez, general manager of the Mandarin Oriental Miami, said: “We have seen an increase in occupancy and demand for our existing Oriental Suite from celebrities and executives from around the world.

“Our new Mandarin Suite was designed to offer a choice for our guests seeking the ultimate in luxury and accommodation.

“The suite provides a highly personalised experience, with its own luxury spa haven for total pampering pleasure.”

The $5,000 per night suite has been decorated by Henriksen Design Associates of Venice Beach, California. Details: www.mandarinoriental.com
