George V Restauration – the group behind the international buddha-bar restaurant and hotel chain, and its spin-off brand, buddha-bar spa – is to launch a new day spa concept called Buddhattitude in the Middle East and Africa.
Two standalone Buddhattitude spas will open this year, the first in Doha, Qatar, in late 2008, and the second in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, in April 2009. Both will be privately owned.
In Doha, the 21,527sq ft (2,000sq m) spa will be located in the Beverly Hills Towers building. In Dakar, the 16,145sq ft (1,500sq m) Buddhattitude will be situated in a new-build shopping mall on the city’s corniche (seafront area) and will be the first to offer a buddha-café.
