The Rapid Fitness group has begun work on a joint project with Duxplore Inc and Pegasus Capital Group SA to develop a resort and spa in Mexico, South America.
The Rapid Fitness property will be located in the heart of the Boca Iglesia Super Resort, situated outside Cancun.
It will include a Super Deluxe Hotel, a Mayan Cluster Hotel, a marina, a Rapid Fitness resort and spa and a yacht club.
The resort will also serve as the Rapid FItness International headquarters while the residential component – Punta Arena – will be situated close to the resort. Designed as the ‘Venice of Mexico’, Punta Arena will feature high-end residences available to Rapid Fitness members and situated on wide canals, some on a waterway with boat slips.
Anthony Mellone, CEO of Rapid Fitness, said: “Our goal is to create a retreat where members can visit for a three-day or one-week programme, and can focus on detoxifying and leaving with a programme they will commit to once they return home.”
Rapid Fitness is a fitness centre franchise, currently with five US locations and a growth structure due to expand worldwide in 2008.
