Psychotherapist Esther Perel and physician Deepak Chopra have teamed up with wellness experience organisers Travelgems to offer their own educational retreats – both taking place in October in the Mediterranean.

Travelgems’ retreats are designed to educate participants and help them integrate lessons into their lives moving forward. The experiences are often co-created with experts.

Esther Perel
Psychotherapist and New York Times bestselling author Esther Perel will lead a six-day relationship retreat on the island of Paros in the Cyclades, a Greek island group in the Aegean Sea between 8-13 October. The properties hosting the event include two hotels – Parilo and Cosme – and a venue called Orbis.

The retreat, titled The double flame: heightening intimacy and desire in your relationships, will offer an exploration of love, intimacy and erotic relations and is designed to reignite passion and connection.

Under the expert guidance of Perel, attendees will take part in thought-provoking discussions, interactive exercises and physical practices in order to explore their personal relationships.

Questions to be addressed include:

• Why does great sex often fade for couples who claim to love each other?
• Why do we lose desire for our partners and how can we reignite it?
• How does parenthood impact sexual relationships?
• What makes the forbidden so erotic?

This experience is open to individuals, couples and clinicians from all orientations who are committed to exploring and enhancing their relationships.

Deepak Chopra

Deepak Chopra is due to lead a five-day retreat between 23-27 October at the W Algarve, Portugal.

Chopra and Travelgems have collaborated on a two retreats over the past few years. This year's event will be called Timeless wisdom for the evolving human. Chopra’s teachings will be about exploring the interconnected essence of existence.

Guests will explore the importance of creation in the constant evolution of life.

Attendees will also engage in abstract discussions about how the cosmos mirrors the human mind’s infinite potential and meditate on four main intentions – to cultivate a joyful energetic body; a loving compassionate heart; a reflective alert mind and the lightness of being.

Chopra will also address artificial intelligence, reframing the conversation to see it as a way to navigate infinite possibilities – drawing on a book he published last year, Digital dharma: how AI can eevate spiritual intelligence and personal wellbeing.
