Retro Fitness to open 100 new clubs over next two years
POSTED 21 Nov 2016 . BY Tom Walker
Retro currently operates 150 clubs across 16 states in the US
US-based budget health club operator Retro Fitness plans to add 100 new franchised sites to its portfolio over the next two years.

The group, which currently operates 150 clubs across 16 states in the US, has already added 14 new clubs this year, with a further 20 franchise deals secured for future openings.

Announcing a target of having 250 locations by the end of 2018, Retro Fitness founder and CEO, Eric Casaburi, said the company had been successful in attracting a “wide group of franchise prospects” and is increasingly attracting multi-unit franchisees.

He added that in the past 18 months alone, 15 separate groups of multi-unit franchise owners have joined the franchise.

“Our diverse group of franchisees is a big part of what makes Retro Fitness so successful,” Casaburi said.

“Our growth is driven by strong-unit economics, streamlined business operations and a focused, forward-thinking approach that continuously brings more value to franchisees and members.”

Founded by Casaburi in 2004, Retro Fitness has evolved from a regional Northeast gym concept into a national fitness chain.

Each Retro Fitness location is equipped with a large gym floor fitted with 60 to 100 pieces of equipment.

The clubs also offers a variety of group fitness classes, such as indoor cycling, zumba, kickboxing and yoga.

Retro membership start at around US$19.99 (€18.8, £16) and personal training is offered for a separate fee.
