Robert de Niro’s Nobu Hospitality to open Nobu Beach Inn in Barbuda at the end of 2026

Nobu Hospitality, co-founded by actor Robert de Niro, has revealed details of the upcoming US$250 million (€230 million, £198 million) Nobu Beach Inn hotel at the The Beach Club, Barbuda, in the Caribbean.

The Beach Club, Barbuda, is described as a low-density, barefoot luxury retreat and is set across 400 acres and two miles of beachfront on the island’s southwest coast. Construction began in 2024 and it is expected to open at the end of 2026.

The property is being created in partnership with Australian investor James Packer and Daniel Shamoon – co-owner of Luxury Hotel Partners. Each of the partners will have a home on the property.

De Niro first visited 35 years ago: “Since I first stepped foot on Barbuda, I knew it was special," he said. "We wanted to create a place that's comfortable, where everyone wants to gather and embrace the essence of the island. The Nobu Beach Inn is designed to complement its surroundings while maintaining the landscape's natural beauty.”

The Nobu Beach Inn hotel will have 36 bedrooms across 17 villas and 25 beachfront residences. The four or five-bedroom residences start from US$12 million (€11 million, £9.5 million).

Other home ownership options at the Beach Club, Barbuda, will include 23 beach club villas and seven beach club estates.

Facilities

There will be a beach club, oceanfront pool and an indoor-outdoor spa. Nobu Hospitality says an evolving portfolio of visiting wellness practitioners, DJs, fitness experts and chefs will bring unique wellness experiences to the island.

Additional facilities will include a kids club, outdoor cinema, two tennis courts, two padel courts and a gym pavilion. The water sports centre will also offer dinghy sailing, water skiing and kite surfing. 

Hotel guests will have access to the existing Nobu Barbuda restaurant, which opened in 2020 on Princess Diana Beach. Other dining venues will include an oceanfront grill and an omakase sushi bar.
