A new Asia-based yoga lifestyle retreat concept has been launched by the former director of spa for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (MOHG), Ingo Schweder.
The concept was first revealed by the Bodhi Dhama Group (BDG) in October 2007. As managing partner, Schweder will be responsible for handling the operations, concept and design development of the new retreats.
BDG will develop and operate yoga lifestyle retreats and currently has two locations in development on Koh Samui in Thailand, which will open in late 2008 and 2010 respectively.
There is also a further site in Lijang, China, which is expected to reach completion by 2011 and will be located within the city’s 82-acre World Heritage Park.
The first Bodhi Dhama site to open – the Bhodi Dhama, Yoga Lifestyle Beach Retreat on Koh Samui – represents an investment of US$5m (3.4m euro, £2.4m).
