W Hotels Worldwide's 39th hotel has opened in Taipei, its first in the country. The 405-room, 31-storey structure is in the city's Xinyi CBD and was designed by London-based G.A. Design International.

The W Taipei features a range of signature restaurants and lounges, including the international Kitchen Table; Yen, the W brand's Cantonese offering; a barbeque on the WET pool sky deck; and five private dining rooms.

Among the facilities are a SWEAT fitness centre, a WET pool, more than 2,833sq m (30,494sq ft) of meeting space and W Hotels' AWAY spa concept.

AWAY blends colours, scents, sounds and light with a range of products to create a menu of treatments including body treatments, waxing, manicures, pedicures, brow and eyelash tinting and facials.
