This enables existing therapists to upskill efficiently allowing them with confidence to treat a much wider range of spa and salon guests
– Laura Sheridan, head of Beauty and Wellbeing at The Training Room
The Training Room has announced a new partnership with Jennifer Young Oncology and Beauty Despite Cancer, that will see the spa and beauty training provider offer a two-day course in oncology massage.

The course is fully accredited and is aimed at qualified therapists who wish to further develop their skills. Attendees are given an informed understanding of cancer, including how the disease impacts the human body, and the ways massage can be used to soothe and comfort clients undergoing cancer treatments.

In addition, students are taught about cancer treatments, and their side effects, including: chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery and medication, and how massage techniques can be adapted accordingly.

"We have seen a much greater demand from our students for more specialist beauty and spa training and are excited to be forming this partnership with Jennifer Young," said Laura Sheridan, head of Beauty and Wellbeing at The Training Room.

"This enables existing therapists to upskill efficiently, allowing them with confidence to treat a much wider range of spa and salon guests."
