Universal Orlando is expanding its extremely popular Halloween Horror Nights to 30 days for 2015, following on from an incredibly successful 2014.
Marking the most dates the event has ever had in its 25-year history, the 2015 lineup will be spearheaded by the incredibly popular Walking Dead horror maze. Returning for the third year in a row, the pop-up attraction is inspired by the TV show and will be tied in with the show’s sixth season, which will start to air in the US close to October.
This year’s Halloween Horror Night event will start earlier than usual – on 18 September – in an attempt to draw more visitors in during a traditionally quiet time of year. Last year brands such as Halloween, Alien vs Predator and The Purge were included among others.
During a recent conference call, the park’s parent company Comcast cited the month-long event as one of the prime reasons why the theme parks division for Universal saw a 30 per cent increase in sales in the final quarter of 2014, something echoed by Merlin Entertainments and its version of the event in its latest earnings report.
