Waldorf Astoria expands into Latin America with opening of Waldorf Astoria Panama

Hilton Worldwide has announced the expansion of its Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand into Latin America with the opening of its latest luxury property featuring a 2,000sq ft (186sq m) branded spa.

The Waldorf Astoria Panama is located in the heart of Panama City and features 248 guest rooms, suites and luxury residences.

Designed by the Miami-based firm ba-haus/KNF, the new hotel unveils a combination of fresh tones and reflective materials, as well as high ceilings, rich exotic woods, metallic pieces, multi-dimensional panels, glass and crystals.

The Waldorf Astoria Spa offers guests five treatment rooms, including a dedicated couples-only space.

Products supplied by Babor will be used in the spa menu, which boasts a range of invigorating body and facial treatments including a host of signature experiences.

Wellness facilities at Waldorf Astoria Panama also include a 2,000 sq ft(186sq m) fitness centre by Life Fitness and an outdoor swimming pool designed with mosaic gold tiles.

The hotel features four distinct restaurants and bars, which are led by executive chef Kalych Padro Alvarado. Dining options include Peacock Alley, an intimate lobby bar; Ginger, a sushi bar that incorporates ginger in its Asian specialty menu; Bungalow Terrace & Pool Bar, offering a relaxing poolside atmosphere; and BRIO Brasserie, a casual all day dining restaurant that combines modern French and American cuisine.
