Wolves open £1m football museum
POSTED 10 Dec 2012 . BY Aoife Dowling
Wolverhampton Wanderers FC has opened a £1m interactive museum in the new Stan Cullis Stand at Molineux Stadium.

Wolves Museum features 25,000 pieces of memorabilia, including shirts, medals, old programmes and trophies collected over the club's 135-year history.

The museum is split into different zones; history, stadium, sport science and games.

Twenty-two touch screens, one of them called 'Glory of Wolves,' are placed around the museum.

The Hall of Fame houses a 30 person capacity cinema showing a film about the club past and footage from famous games.

Ron Flowers' World Cup medal and a drawing of Molineux as 'a pleasure gardens' are among the most prized items in the displays.

School groups can attend workshops to learn about the club's history as well as the dietary and fitness regimes footballers undertake.

Jez Moxey, chief executive, Wolves, said: "The Wolves Museum has been nearly two years in the making in terms of actual design and delivery but it has been Steve Morgan's vision and passion to create this amazing facility."

"The Museum is as much about representing who we are now as a Club, as it is our rich history, and the intention is that grandparents, parents and children - whoever they support - will all be able to visit together and have a fantastic experience."
