The 2024 G7 Summit is now underway at a destination spa resort in Puglia, Italy, with leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US convening to address some of the world’s most urgent issues.
Hosted by Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni from 13 to 15 June, the event is being held at the Borgo Egnazia resort in the Itria Valley.
Key sessions will focus on Africa, climate change and development; the conflict in the Middle East; the war in Ukraine; migration; Indo-Pacific economic security; and artificial intelligence and energy in Africa and the Mediterranean.
Pope Francis is also due to make an appearance – making him the first pontiff to attend a G7 Summit – and will speak on artificial intelligence.
The privately-owned Borgo Egnazia resort places major emphasis on wellness and is home to the award-winning 1,800sq m Vair Spa. With a mission to maximise every guests' sense of happiness, the spa offers treatments aimed at alleviating emotional and physical tension, including laughter therapy, along with a variety of spa rituals inspired by the Puglian region.
The beating heart of Vair Spa is its authentic candle-lit Roman bathing journey featuring a caldarium (hot bath), a tepidarium (warm bath) and a frigidarium (cold bath).
Additional facilities include a wet area with a sauna, a steam bath, a relaxation lounge, a hot tub and an ice fountain, as well as a nail lab, a gym and a heated indoor pool.
