Roger Allen, co-founder and CEO of advisory and management company Resources for Leisure Assets, has co-authored a book for hotel and resort investors.

Titled “Hotels and Resorts: An investor’s guide,” the 374-page book looks at how hotels, resorts spas, gyms, health clubs, golf courses and serviced apartments are developed, operate and are valued.

The book, published by Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group, is also co-authored by David Harper, managing director of Leisure Property Services, and draws on Allen and Harper’s 40 years’ experience in the leisure property, hospitality and wellbeing industries.

It also provides guidelines for valuation of a spa or wellness facility as an integral part of a hotel or resort development, and as a stand-alone entity.

The authors aim to simplify the value determination process and provide clarity on how to determine the financial performance of a spa facility.

“Hotels and Resorts: An investor’s guide” is available for £110 (US$139, €124) in hardback or £44.99 (US$57, €51)in paperback.
