Announcement on gym and spa reopening dates expected at 5.00pm today

HCM understands a decision on reopening dates for gyms and also for spas will be made today at a one-off government press briefing by culture secretary, Oliver Dowden, at 5.00pm.

"We are going to reopen gyms as soon as we can do it in a COVID-19-secure way and I think that the date for reopening gyms at the moment, if we can do it, is in just a couple of weeks’ time," Johnson said.
