Elements of the sea inspire new spa at Ritz-Carlton Singapore
POSTED 04 Jan 2017 . BY Jane Kitchen
Each treatment room is inspired by different types of exotic seaweeds
The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore has unveiled a new spa in partnership with skincare brand La Mer.

Designed to enliven the senses through evoking the essence of the ocean and its healing benefits, the spa features a multi-sensory experience.

The spa includes 10 treatment rooms, including a Ritz-Carlton Spa Suite, which features a private bath with hydro-jets. Male and female changing rooms include whirlpools, steam rooms, saunas, shower facilities and relaxation rooms with Zero Gravity recliners, and women also have a mineral pool.

Guests are greeted by the sound of trickling water as they enter the spa, followed by a corridor tree bark corridor that leads to the treatment rooms, featuring blue oyster glass. Each treatment room is inspired by different types of exotic seaweeds.

Treatments begin with a foot ritual and breathing exercises, which are aided by placing conch shells next to the ears to immerse guests in the sounds of the sea.

Post-treatment, guests awaken through mediated breathing exercises and a hand ritual. A seaweed inspired beverage and canapé completes the spa journey.

“We are delighted to be the first luxury hotel in Asia Pacific to partner with La Mer to offer the best in skincare and indulgent facial treatments,” said Peter Mainguy, general manager.

The spa features several signature treatments, including Timeless Indulgence, performed by two therapists and combining the La Mer Miracle Broth facial with a foot care regime; and Cello Concerto, inspired by classical music and synchronised with live music played by a cellist.

The spa also offers Educational Spa Masterclasses, where guests can learn the art of massage.

The hotel has also debuted a new outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by lush greenery, as well as a new gym and The Timeless Capsule, a private space for express treatments.

Le Salon Rose is a social space offering podiatry services, manicure, pedicure, personalised hair and makeup services, and can be booked exclusively for a private groups.
