A second hotel is to be built at Alton Towers in a bid to position the theme park as a short break destination. A second hotel will be built adjacent to the park's existing 175-room hotel. The owners want Alton Towers to viewed as a short break option and will be targeting the top end of the market with a room for four costing around £130 a night. The £35m hotel will offer 200 rooms and a pool with rides and flumes and is estimated to create around 320 jobs for the local area.
